Micro & Nanobiotechnologies

Dans les domaines des nanobiosciences, des micronanotechnologies, du génie électrique et de la physique appliquée, le groupe développe des biocapteurs et des micronanotechnologies non conventionnelles pour créer des outils analytiques flexibles basés sur des puces BioLab-on-chips, des micro/nanocapteurs, micromélangeurs/microfiltres en utilisant également des nanoparticules. Ces outils novateurs, conçus pour être adaptés à une production à grande échelle à faible coût, ont des applications dans le domaine de la Santé allant de la découverte et le diagnostic puis le suivi de maladies en s’intéressant notammant aux biomarqueurs du cancer.
D’autres développements sont également réalisés dans le domaine des analyses environnementales.

Axes de recherche

Nous développons des biocapteurs basés sur des surfaces spécialement conçues en utilisant l’impression par micro-contact (µCP) et le dépôt électro-sans (EDL). Nous concevons également Biolab-on-chips avec des microélectrodes en or fabriquées sur des substrats (p. ex., polyimide) par une combinaison d’outils de lithographie souple tels que le moulage de répliques, µCP, et les monocouches auto-assemblées (SAMs). D’autres microfiltres et micromélangeurs flexibles sont basés sur l’étanchéité du poly(diméthylsiloxane) microstructuré (PDMS) aux différents films thermoplastiques fonctionnalisés (polyimide (PI), naphthalate de polyéthylène (PEN) et polyéthylène téréphtalate (PET).

Aujourd’hui, nous visons également à mettre au point de nouvelles méthodes de production de masse de transistors à effet nanométrique (NanoFETs) à base de nanofils polypyrrole (NPpyFET) à faible coût à l’aide de techniques de nanofabrication « non conventionnelles » (p. ex., EDL, impression en nanocontact submergé, etc.). Nous nous attaquons à l’optimisation de ces NPpyFET pour la détection des biomarqueurs du cancer, en particulier l’antigène prostatique spécifique (PSA).

Nos travaux sont également basés sur l’élaboration de nanoparticules. Notre recherche combine plusieurs aspects: la polymérisation en milieu dispersé pour l’élaboration de particules fonctionnalisées pour le diagnostic in-vitro et l’analyse environnementale, l’encapsulation de molécules actives pour la thérapeutique, l’encapsulation d’agents de contrastes pour le diagnostic in-vivo et enfin l’encapsulation de molécules pour la théranostique et la cosmétique. Pour rendre notre recherche compétitive et applicable, nous souhaitons faire évoluer notre activité du fondamental à une finalité appliquée via le contact direct avec les médecins par exemple ou les sociétés concernées pour répondre à des problématiques réelles et par conséquent à un besoin.

Projet R&D Booster/RESOL (2021-2023)

Objectif: Trouver une solution pour obtenir un PVC recyclé qui soit réutilisable dans des procédés d’enduction plastisol suite au processus de recyclage. Pour ce faire, l’aide allouée par le R&D Booster va permettre de construire un démonstrateur sous la forme d’un pilote de taille intermédiaire pouvant traiter 5 kg de déchets et permettant de vérifier la viabilité technique pour incorporer du r-PVC dans le procédé plastisol pour les domaines du vêtement de protection et du bâtiment.

Objectif : Le projet BIONANOSENS, financé par l’Union Européenne et axé sur le développement d’une nouvelle électronique biomoléculaire pour la bionanotechnologie analytique, jumelle l’IMBG ( Institut de Biologie Moléculaire et de Génétique, Ukraine) avec des partenaires de l’UE afin de renforcer les capacités de cet Institut et de créer un Centre d’excellence de renommée internationale dans le domaine des biotechnologies analytiques. Les scientifiques de classe mondiale de l’Institut bénéficieront également de ce jumelage dans des domaines allant de la rédaction de propositions et de la gestion de subventions à la mise en réseau et au mentorat de jeunes scientifiques, complétant ainsi l’expertise scientifique actuelle avec les compétences nécessaires pour assurer l’afflux de fonds de recherche et de nouveaux talents.

Projet Européen H2020 KARDIATOOL ( 2017 – 2021)

Objectif: Le projet KardiaTool, financé par l’UE, ambitionne de mettre au point un appareil portable capable de diagnostiquer l’insuffisance cardiaque et de surveiller le traitement sur le lieu de soins à partir d’échantillons de salive. Le dispositif intégrera différents biomarqueurs de l’insuffisance cardiaque à partir de la salive, proposant une alternative économique au dépistage sanguin. La facilité d’utilisation et le potentiel de surveillance continue que propose la solution KardiaTool devraient améliorer la pratique clinique et les soins prodigués aux patients souffrant d’insuffisance cardiaque.
