Interfaces et biocapteurs

Les principales activités du groupe concernent la conception et l’élaboration de microdispositifs et de nanoobjets biofonctionnalisés pour la (bio)détection, le diagnostic médical et les applications thérapeutiques.

Axes de recherche

Pour cela, nous concevons et modifions des surfaces à l’aide de (bio)couches de reconnaissance sensibles, bien adaptées à divers transducteurs optiques ou électrochimiques (ampérométrique, conductométrique, impédancemétrique, etc.).

L’équipe a acquis une solide expérience dans la synthèse et la modification des biomolécules à des fins d’immobilisation sur des microélectrodes à base d’or ou de carbone. Afin d’accroître les performances des dispositifs analytiques (rapidité, sensibilité, robustesse), différentes stratégies sont étudiées par notre groupe, comme notamment l’utilisation de matériaux d’électrode innovants, l’intégration de nanomatériaux conducteurs aux plates-formes de greffage (p. ex., nanoparticules d’or, nanotubes de carbone, graphène, nanofibres), et la substitution de biorécepteurs coûteux et fragiles par des aptamères ou des polymères à empreinte moléculaire. Un nouvel axe de recherche de l’équipe vise à exploiter la technique d’impression 3D de matériaux biosourcés pour l’élaboration rapide, moins coûteuse et/ou plus respectueuse de l’environnement d’électrodes et de dispositifs électrochimiques intégrés.

En utilisant les stratégies originales de modification de surface développées, un certain nombre de biocapteurs à ADN, enzymes, anticorps ont été proposés. Ils ont été appliqués à la détection en temps réel, sensible et sélective de diverses molécules cibles d’intérêt environnemental, alimentaire ou biologique ainsi que des microorganismes. L’un de nos projets actuels est axé sur la détection ultra-sensible des bactéries dans l’eau, les aliments et les fluides biologiques. En ce qui concerne le diagnostic biomédical et les applications thérapeutiques, nous proposons une stratégie originale pour la multi-fonctionnalisation de particules de silice de taille nanométrique (brevet WO/2013/007944). Grâce à cette stratégie, des densités élevées d’ADN, d’aptamères et de protéines peuvent être greffées sur la surface des nanoparticules. Ces conjugués sont d’un grand intérêt pour le développement d’approches innovantes dans les domaines du diagnostic in vitro, de l’imagerie et la thérapie in vivo.
